As part of the Wathen-Castanos Hybrid Homes, Inc., philosophy, we believe in sharing our profits and resources with the community to fulfill our beliefs. Here are just a few ways in which we try to give back to the community:
- The Wathen-Castanos, Inc., Charitable Fund
The Wathen-Castanos, Inc., Charitable Fund was established to enhance “The Clovis Way of Life” by providing financial support for recreation, arts, culture and other quality of life projects in the greater Fresno-Clovis area. An amount equal to a small percentage, currently 1/10th of 1% of the sale price a home sold by Wathen-Castanos Hybrid Homes, Inc.,-now and every time it is resold-will be contributed to the Fund. Wathen-Castanos Hybrid Homes, Inc., is responsible for contributing the first 1/10th of 1% and then the subsequent seller passes on future contributions. For example, a $200,000 home sale would generate a $200 donation to the Fund. These proceeds are then distributed by the foundation to the most deserving quality of life projects taking place in the community. This provides a way for builders and homeowners to “give something back” and become a life-long partner in making our community an even better place to live, work and raise a family. - Youth For Christ (YFC)
Wathen-Castanos Hybrid Homes, Inc., lent its services to YFC for the remodeling of its 6,000-square foot headquarters. The project included adding new offices, reconfiguring existing spaces, and completely renovating the interior and exterior of the building. In addition, Wathen-Castanos Hybrid Homes, Inc.,’ principals also participate in YFC’s annual Tennis Invitational Tournament, which raises approximately $8,000 each year for YFC. - Habitat for Humanity
Wathen-Castanos Hybrid Homes, Inc., has participated in Habitat for Humanity projects. With the aid of employees, lots were graded, sprinklers installed, trees planted and sod laid. Wathen-Castanos Hybrid Homes, Inc., is proud to help families achieve the dream of owning a home and supports building homes that reflect a sense of pride in the community. - Project Playhouse
In 1994, Wathen-Castanos Hybrid Homes, Inc., built one of twelve playhouses auctioned off to benefit the Domus Mitis (Home of Gentleness for Children). In conjunction with the architectural firm of Lutz, Seng and Boudreau, Wathen-Castanos Hybrid Homes, Inc., built a playhouse with a nautical theme, the S.S. San Joaquin. The playhouse brought in the largest auction price that year, $11,000. - San Joaquin Memorial High School
Wathen-Castanos Hybrid Homes, Inc., principals take an active role in organizing San Joaquin Memorial High School’s St. Patrick’s Day Golf Tournament. The Tournament is held at local country clubs and has over 200 participants. Each year, The St. Patrick’s Day Tournament raises between $15,000 and $20,000 to benefit the San Joaquin Memorial athletics department. - Christmas
Each Christmas, the owners and employees of Wathen-Castanos Hybrid Homes, Inc., reach out to the less-fortunate families of the Highway City area. The Wathen-Castanos Hybrid Homes, Inc., family and employees donate gifts, food, clothing, trees, blankets and other essential items.
